Lead scoring

Lead scoring is giving each lead a score from their answers and behaviour, so your sales team sees the most likely buyers first. The score then decides what happens to each lead next: a priority call, a follow-up or a nurture sequence.

How does lead scoring work?

Lead scoring works by checking each lead against criteria that describe a good buyer for your business. In the AI voice and chat agents we build, every answered conversation is scored across areas such as product fit, budget, expressed intent and high-value signals, and the score and a classification are written to your CRM straight away.

A typical set of bands for a voice agent scoring out of 100:

Score · Classification · What your team does
ScoreClassificationWhat your team does
80–100HotPriority call within 2 hours
50–79WarmFollow up within 24 hours and nurture towards booking
20–49ColdAdd to an email nurture sequence
0–19DisqualifiedNo follow-up; the reason is logged

The criteria and thresholds are tailored to what a qualified lead looks like for your team.

Why does lead scoring matter for a small business?

Lead scoring matters for a small business because sales time is scarce. When every lead looks the same in the CRM, salespeople work in order of arrival, not likelihood to buy. A consistent score means the hottest leads get a call first, and nobody spends an afternoon on enquiries that were never going to buy.

What does lead scoring look like in practice?

For a Spanish sports-education agency, the outbound voice agent we built writes a 1–10 lead score and a next-step label to the CRM after every answered call, alongside a call summary. The sales team can open the CRM and see who to call first and why, without replaying each conversation.
