How does human-in-the-loop work?
Human-in-the-loop works by adding approval steps to an automation. The AI drafts the email, post or report and sends it to a review point, such as an Airtable interface, a Google Sheet, Slack or your email drafts. A person approves it, edits it or asks for changes, and only then does the automation send, post or publish it.
Why does human-in-the-loop matter for a small business?
Human-in-the-loop matters for a small business because one bad message sent to every lead can cost more than the time the automation saves. Approvals let you build trust gradually. Most of our clients keep them on for anything public at first, then switch them off for low-risk steps once the output is consistently right.
What does human-in-the-loop look like in practice?
In the automations we build, common approval points are personalised lead magnet reports before they're emailed to a lead, drafted sales emails before they're sent, social posts before they're scheduled, and AI-drafted SEO articles, so a writer can add first-hand insight before publishing. Each can switch to automatic sending once you trust it.
| Workflow | What gets reviewed | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Lead magnets | Each personalised report before it's emailed | Airtable, email or Slack |
| Personalised emails | Each drafted email before it's sent | Your email drafts or CRM |
| Social media | Ideas first, then finished posts before scheduling | Your CRM, project tool or Airtable |
| SEO articles | The AI draft, before it's published | Google Docs |
