Social Media Content Automation
Social media content automation keeps your accounts posting without someone writing every day. AI suggests ideas or works from yours, researches each one, drafts posts for each platform in your brand voice and sends them to you for approval. Approved posts are scheduled for each platform's best engagement times, and engagement data shapes the next round of ideas.

What is social media content automation?
Social media content automation is a workflow that takes a post from idea to published without someone doing each step by hand. AI suggests ideas or takes yours, researches what's working in your niche, writes a version for each platform and sends the drafts to your CRM or Airtable. Once you approve them, they're scheduled and published.
The result is a steady, on-brand presence across every platform you use, with your approval before anything goes out.
Why is posting consistently so hard?
Posting consistently is hard because it's a job in itself. Ideas run dry, each platform needs a different format, and posting falls to whoever has a spare hour. The result is weeks of silence followed by a burst of rushed posts, while competitors who show up every day get the attention and the enquiries.
Ideas run dry
Coming up with something worth posting several times a week, every week, wears out even the most creative owner.Every platform wants something different

Without someone owning it, the account goes quiet for weeks, then fills with rushed posts.
Where do the post ideas come from?
Post ideas come from AI, from you, or both. AI can suggest fresh ideas based on industry trends, your past engagement and your audience's interests, and send them to your CRM, project management tool or Airtable for you to approve. Or you add your own ideas whenever you have them. Either way, you choose the format, tone and audience.
| Ideas generated by AI | Ideas entered by you | |
|---|---|---|
| How it starts | AI suggests fresh ideas based on industry trends, your past engagement and your audience's interests, and sends them to your CRM, project management tool or Airtable | You add ideas to your CRM, project management tool or Airtable whenever you have them |
| Your input | Approve the ideas you like, then choose format (image, video or text), tone, copy style and target audience | Choose format, tone, copy style and target audience as you add each idea |
How does an idea become a published post?
An idea becomes a published post in five steps. The system researches news, trends and high-performing content in your niche, AI writes platform-specific drafts in your brand voice, you edit or approve them in your CRM or Airtable, and approved posts are scheduled for each platform's best engagement times. Engagement data then feeds the next round of ideas.

Where can the posts go?
Social media content automation can write for more than your own feed. Posts can highlight your offers, work and results on your own accounts, be prepared for the communities and groups your audience belongs to, promote a lead magnet, or cover an event before, during and after it happens.
- Your own accounts: regular posts that highlight your offers, work and results
- Communities and groups: posts for the online communities, groups and channels your audience belongs to, ready for you to share
- Lead magnet promotion: posts that point people to a personalised offer (see lead magnet generation)
- Events and community work: invitations before, updates during and results after
How do posts turn into leads?
Posts turn into leads when the conversations they start are captured. A keyword comment-to-DM automation, built in GoHighLevel or ManyChat, turns comments and DMs on Facebook and Instagram into captured, qualified leads in your CRM. For open-ended conversations, an AI chat agent can answer on Messenger and Instagram.
See social DM lead capture for how comments and DMs become qualified leads, and AI chat agents for open-ended DM conversations.
Can your team build a simpler version themselves?
Your team can build a simpler version with our AI training. In a recorded workshop, we built a Make.com flow that takes ideas from a Google Sheet, writes a post for each ticked platform, and saves the drafts back to the sheet for a person to review. It was a training demo on sample ideas, not a client deployment.
The workshop also covered connecting accounts with OAuth and API keys, fixing a failed run on camera, and scheduling the scenario to draft content every morning. The self-built version drafts posts for review; research, approval in your CRM, publishing and learning from engagement are part of the full build. See AI training.

Which systems deliver it?
Social media content automation is delivered by AI automations, which research, draft, route for approval and publish. An AI chat agent can answer the DM conversations your posts start. If your team would rather build a simpler version in-house, AI training teaches them to build it in Make.com.
| System | Trigger | What it does | Package note |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Automations | Weekly schedule or a new idea | Suggests ideas, researches each one, drafts platform-specific posts and sends them for approval | Advanced Automation; publishing and scheduling integration available as an add-on |
| AI Automations | Posts approved | Schedules and publishes posts at each platform's best times, and feeds engagement into new ideas | Full Automation System, with publishing integration included |
| AI Chat Agents | A comment or DM on Facebook or Instagram | Answers open-ended DM conversations on Messenger and Instagram | Chat agent on Meta channels |
| AI Training | Workshop | Teaches your team to build a drafting flow in Make.com themselves | No audit needed first |
Where is it used?
Social media content automation suits local businesses with a loyal following, service businesses, real estate investors, coaches and consultants, hospitality and wellness brands, and agencies running social media for several clients. Each calls the job something different: staying visible locally, showing off listings, filling the calendar, or managing clients' feeds.
Staying visible between jobs. Your finished work, seasonal tips and offers become a steady run of posts for Facebook and Instagram, written in your voice and approved by you in a few minutes a week.
How would we build it for you?
We haven't published a social media content case study yet. Here's how a build would run: we capture your brand voice and audience, decide where ideas come from and who approves them, connect your CRM or Airtable and your social accounts, then run test batches with you until the drafts are right before scheduling goes live.

What should you know before you start?
Social media content automation drafts and schedules, but you stay in control: nothing is published until you approve it. Instagram and Facebook posts publish directly; other platforms go through a scheduling tool such as GoHighLevel, Buffer or Hootsuite. Publishing is an add-on on Advanced Automation and included in the Full Automation System.
- Approval stays in. Ideas and finished posts come back to you before anything is scheduled.
- Learning comes from your own data. Engagement feeds the next round of ideas, so the system leans towards what works for your audience as your posts build up.
- Comments and DMs are a separate build. Turning engagement into leads uses a comment-to-DM automation or a chat agent.
- Running costs are billed by the providers. AI models, research and scheduling tools are paid to those providers, and we estimate them before the build.
Frequently asked questions
Questions
Answer
Does it publish anything without my approval?
No. Social media content automation sends every draft back to your CRM or Airtable, where you edit it or approve it as it is. If AI suggests the ideas, you approve those first too. Only approved posts are scheduled and published, so nothing reaches your accounts that you haven't seen.
Which platforms can it write for?
Social media content automation writes platform-specific drafts for Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and newsletters, in your brand voice. Posts to Instagram and Facebook can be published automatically once approved. Other platforms are published through a scheduling tool such as GoHighLevel, Buffer or Hootsuite.
Can it make image and video posts?
Yes. You choose a format for each idea: image, video or text. The drafts are written for that format, and visuals can be generated where the quality is good enough, or your designer can drop the copy into your own graphics. We agree how visuals are produced during the build, based on the platforms and formats you post most.
Can it reply to comments and DMs?
Not on its own. Replies are handled by a separate build: a keyword comment-to-DM automation in GoHighLevel or ManyChat that captures and qualifies leads from comments and DMs, or an AI chat agent that holds open-ended conversations on Messenger and Instagram. See social DM lead capture.
How is this different from content repurposing?
Social media content automation starts from ideas, suggested by AI or added by you, and researches each one. Content repurposing starts from a recording you've already made, such as a video or podcast, and turns it into posts, emails and a blog. If you record long-form content, repurposing uses it; if you don't, this works from ideas.
Can my team build it themselves?
Your team can build a simpler version with our AI training. In a recorded workshop, we built a Make.com flow that drafts a post for each ticked platform from a Google Sheet of ideas, ready for a person to review. Research, approval in your CRM, publishing and learning from engagement are part of the full build.
