Search & AI Visibility
Search and AI visibility means every site and location you run gets found: in Google's results and map pack, in the direct answers search engines show, and when customers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Claude for a recommendation. We audit the whole portfolio, build a phased roadmap, then implement it one location at a time and track it monthly.

What does search and AI visibility mean for a business with several locations?
Search and AI visibility for a business with several locations means each city, state or brand site can be found by the people searching there. That takes a page for every place and service people search for, a local presence for each location, answer-ready content, and enough mentions elsewhere on the web that AI assistants know the business exists.
The work is delivered by our SEO, AEO & GEO system, which explains what each layer means and how the audit is scored. This page is about the job itself: turning a portfolio of good-looking sites into one that brings in enquiries, location by location.
Why do good-looking location sites bring in so few enquiries?
Good-looking location sites bring in few enquiries because the causes are invisible from the homepage. A site can be a single page with no city or service pages to rank, no analytics or Google Business Profile, and no mentions anywhere else, so neither Google nor AI assistants know it exists. Nobody has looked at the portfolio as a whole.
The gaps don't show on the homepage
Missing city pages, analytics, Search Console, schema, reviews and Google Business Profiles only show up when someone audits every site.AI assistants recommend someone else
When a customer asks an assistant who the best local provider is, it names a handful of businesses, drawn mostly from listicles, review sites and directories. If you're not one of them, you never get the chance to compete. The usual shortcut makes it worse
City pages made by swapping one place name for another look like doorway pages and can get a whole site penalised. AI tools make that shortcut easier, and they'll invent an address, a legal deadline or a testimonial if nobody stops them.
How do we get every location found?
We get every location found in three stages. First we audit every domain and location and score it out of 100, including AI visibility. Then every fix becomes a numbered action in a phased roadmap with a baseline and targets. Then we implement it one location at a time, starting with a pilot.
1. Audit the whole portfolio
Your sites aren't producing leads, you're entering new locations, or you want to know whether AI assistants mention you
Agree the scope
Every domain and location in the portfolio, what each one is for, and the markets you really serve.Audit every dimension
Technical SEO, on-page, content and keyword gaps, site architecture and doorway-page risk, local SEO, E-E-A-T, trust and compliance, structured data, and answer and AI visibility.Measure AI visibility
Around 10–20 prompts your customers would really ask are run across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, and turned into a score out of 100.Score it
Each dimension and each site gets a score out of 100 and a plain verdict. Anything we can't verify from outside is listed with how to check it.
2. Build the growth roadmap
Turn every fix into an action
Each one is numbered, with an effort estimate, an owner and an expected impact.Group it into phases
From emergency trust fixes in week one, through foundations, content and architecture, and authority, to compounding growth in months 7–12.Set the measures
A baseline at the audit date, targets at 90 days, 6 months and 12 months, a monthly dashboard and a same-day fix checklist.
3. Roll out one location at a time
Write the location plan
The whole plan for a pilot location goes into one file written for an AI coding agent, with every task, what blocks it and testable acceptance criteria.Work phase by phase
The agent works through the plan one phase at a time and reports against the acceptance criteria. We review the report and the live pages before the next phase.Hand people the human tasks
Anything only a person can supply, such as an address, photos, reviews or a legal check, comes back to your team.Reuse the patterns
Templates, schema, URL structure and content formats from the pilot are documented, so the next location starts from a proven pattern.Track monthly
Indexed pages, clicks, local pack positions, reviews, enquiries and the same AI prompt set, re-run every month.
What does each location get?
Each location gets work on all three layers. For search, it gets city and situation pages built from sourced local facts, a Google Business Profile and consistent citations. For direct answers, it gets answer-first content and validated schema. For AI assistants, it gets a consistent presence across directories and review sites, and a path into the lists assistants draw on.
| Layer | What each location gets | Where you show up |
|---|---|---|
| SEO | City and situation pages with at least three facts true only of that city, service-area hubs, internal links, a Google Business Profile, citations with identical name, address and phone everywhere, and review generation | Google results and the local map pack |
| AEO | Answer-first content, an FAQ page built around real customer questions, and validated FAQPage, LocalBusiness, Organization and breadcrumb schema | Direct answers and AI Overviews |
| GEO | Aggregator and listicle inclusion, a consistent business entity across directories and review sites, citable facts, /llms.txt and open access for AI crawlers | ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and other assistants |
Honest by design. Nothing we build relies on fake reviews, invented data, copy-and-paste location pages or undisclosed forum posts.
Which systems deliver it?
Search and AI visibility is delivered by our SEO, AEO & GEO system, in three ways of working: an audit and roadmap, a location-by-location rollout, and ongoing growth with monthly tracking. AI automations can then send every form and call from the new location pages straight into your CRM, tagged with the location they came from.
| System | Trigger | What it does | Package note |
|---|---|---|---|
| SEO, AEO & GEO | Sites not producing leads | Audits every site and location, scores it out of 100 and builds a phased roadmap with targets | Audit & Roadmap · AI Consulting |
| SEO, AEO & GEO | Roadmap agreed | Implements the roadmap one location at a time with an AI coding agent, reviewed after every phase | Location Rollout · AI Development |
| SEO, AEO & GEO | Every month | Tracks rankings, reviews, enquiries and AI mentions, refreshes content and adds locations | Ongoing Growth · AI Operations |
| AI Automations | A form or call from a location page | Sends each enquiry into your CRM with its location, so the right person follows up | See lead capture & routing |
Where is it used?
Search and AI visibility suits local service businesses with several locations or brand sites, such as home buyers, trades and home services, clinics, law firms, franchises and multi-branch businesses, and any business whose website looks good but brings in little search traffic. Each wants the same thing: to be found in every place it serves.
A site per state, and a page for every city. City and seller-situation pages built from real local facts, a Google Business Profile, genuine reviews, and a place in the "best cash home buyers" lists that AI assistants draw on.
Proof
Our first search and AI visibility program is still in progress, so there are no results to report yet. For a US cash home buying company running five state brand sites and a parent site, we audited all six domains and delivered a phased roadmap. Implementation has started with a pilot state, and none of the roadmap's targets has been reached yet.

What should you know before you start?
Search and AI visibility takes months. Quick fixes go live in week one, but rankings, map pack positions and AI mentions build over months, so the roadmap sets milestones to check progress against. Some inputs only you can give, such as a verifiable address, real reviews and legal sign-off, and most of what moves AI answers happens off your site.
- It takes months. Quick fixes go live in the first week; rankings and AI mentions build over months.
- Some inputs only you can give. A verifiable address, opening hours, real photos, real reviews and legal sign-off are flagged to your team on day one, because they take the longest.
- GEO is mostly off-site. A better website helps, but listicles, reviews and directories move AI answers most.
- Works with your own agent. If you already use an AI coding agent with access to your site, the location plans are written for it.
Frequently asked questions
Questions
Answer
Why do AI assistants recommend my competitors and not me?
AI assistants recommend the businesses named in the sources they draw on, mostly listicles, review sites and directories. If none of those mention you, an assistant has nothing to recommend you from, however good your website is. Search and AI visibility work builds a consistent business entity across those sources and works on getting you into the lists.
Will location pages get my site penalised?
Location pages get a site penalised when they're made by swapping one place name for another, because search engines treat them as doorway pages. We build each city or situation page from sourced local facts, with at least three that are true only of that city, so every page has real local substance. No page is made by find-and-replace.
Should we fix every location at once?
No. We start with one pilot location, often the lowest-scoring site, and implement its plan phase by phase with a review after each one. Templates, schema, URL structure and content formats that work there are documented and reused, so the next location starts from a proven pattern instead of from scratch.
What do you need from us for each location?
For each location we need the things only you can give: a verifiable address, opening hours, real photos, real reviews and legal sign-off on anything regulated. Your team also handles the Google Business Profile verification, as it needs the registered address. We flag all of this on day one, because these inputs take the longest.
What gets fixed in the first week?
The first week covers emergency fixes: trust and compliance problems that are cheap to fix and costly to leave, such as placeholder text, unlabelled sample testimonials or claims nobody can back up. Foundations follow in weeks one to four: analytics, Search Console, sitemaps, schema, metadata, Google Business Profiles, citations and an AI visibility baseline.
Can our own AI coding agent run the plan?
Yes. If you already use an AI coding agent with access to your sites, each location plan is written for it: every task has an ID, an effort estimate, what blocks it, instructions and testable acceptance criteria. The agent works phase by phase, and we review its report and the live pages before sending the next phase.
